Having a Blast in Ebbw Vale!
Furnace to Flowers, our Wales flagship in Ebbw Vale, just had their first ever sowing event! Not detered by a bit of cloud and drizzle, there was a fantastic turnout. Look out for lots more to come from Furnace to Flowers as they transform the former steel works with thousands of native wild flowers!
Throwing seed bombs!
Seed bombs are a fun and easy way to sow seeds in areas that can't be easily reached on foot, in this case the banks of the site! All you have to do is throw them! Always make sure to have the landowner's permission when sowing wild flower seeds and never sow near natural habitats and conservtions areas.
Our Wales Partnership Manager Maria Golightly and film maker Chad Higgins having a laugh... (watch this space for more from Chad as he documents the transformation of the site in a time lapse film)
The view from the bridge at the steel works. Looking good, guys!
