Foraging Hedgerow in Gateshead
Foraging Hedgerow in Gateshead want to help unite their community, bringing refugees and asylum seekers together with the broader community. As they put it, “it’s about building bridges and breaking down barriers”.
Their project will involve building a foraging hedge and sowing and growing native wild flowers and plants across the area, creating a very ecologically diverse space.
Work is well underway, building planters with hay bales, preparing the ground and tending seedlings.
Grow Wild wild flower seeds will help to brighten up the whole area, and provide a great source of food and shelter for pollinators including bees. As you can see, they’re really fun and easy to sow…
We’ll be checking back in with Foraging Hedgerow later this year to see how the project is progressing, so watch this space.
