We’ve liberated our feet for our next #GWildWeekends activity.
Walking outdoors sans footwear might sound like a fairly innocuous pursuit but according to health bods, it’s great for our posture, balance and circulation – plus stimulates nerve endings, and builds strength and flexibility in tired tootsies.
Clearly, you’re at liberty to walk barefoot wherever you wish (within reason) but there are dedicated barefoot trails around the UK – including here at Grow Wild HQ in Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. It’s part of the Plantasia spectacular this summer and features a variety of textures to reawaken your feet including pebbles, bark and pine cones. Also check out the trails at the Trentham Estate in Staffordshire and National Trust property Goldolphin in Cornwall.
