Gartcosh - Off the Rails
Northern Corridor Community Volunteers
Our project aims to replace the suburban planting scheme at the North Platform of our local station with native shrubs, small trees , wildflowers and plants that complement the rural location and increase biodiversity.

Currently the bankings between the Car Park and Public walkway at Gartcosh Station are planted with a monoculture of Common Dogwood which supports little biodiversity and creates a floor level dead zone that traps windblown litter. The station is open to the public at all times but if you would like someone to come and talk to you during your visit please get in touch.
